Deacon Scott has requested a clarification to the recent notice about changes during communion at Marysdale: The choir will no longer be receiving communion at the back of the church and will filter into the main lines; however, there will still be distribution to those in the back who are unable to come forward to receive. The Eucharistic ministers will distribute to those at the back of church at the beginning of communion.

Adoration Chapel Christmas hours: The Adoration Chapel will close for the Christmas holidays on Friday, December 21, at 3pm. The Adoration Chapel will open after New Year's on Wednesday, January 2, at 6am. Have a Blessed Christmas and joy-filled New Year.

A Family Perspective: Today’s gospel shows John the Baptist and parents have similar vocations.  Like the Baptist, parents are asked to make “rough ways smooth” and to “prepare the way of the Lord” for their families.  This Advent ask:  “Does my life hinder of help my family to know Jesus?”

My Dear Parishioners:
I thank you for your continued prayers for my return to health.  Our prayers I think were answered last Friday, Nov. 30, when I answered a phone call from the Diocese from Msgr. Borger, Vicar for Priests, stating that he has some help for me.  He said that Fr. Jacob Gordon has just finished a sabbatical where he attended two different retreats – one by the Jesuits and another by the Benedictines – and is now available to help out at St. Michael’s and St. Isidore’s until July 1 when I will be able to fully retire at the age of 75.  Msgr. Borger noted that Fr. Gordon will be paid his regular salary by the Diocese and will not be an extra burden on the parishes financially. All we have to do is provide him with food and a place to stay.  Fr. Gordon last served the parishes of Attica, Our Lady of Hope and, Bellevue, St. Gaspar del Bufalo.   We welcome Fr. Jacob to our parishes of St. Mike’s & St. Isidore’s who will help with Masses, Funerals, & other parish functions until July 1, 2019.
God’s blessings to all of our parishioners.
Fr. Bob Kill, Pastor

“More than a Manger” Project – For the 19th year the St. Isidore Altar-Rosary Society is sponsoring its annual project called “More than a Manger.”  A baby crib will be placed in the Marysdale hall and a pac-n-play in the Delaware Bend vestibule to accept donations for the Community Pregnancy Centers of Northwest Ohio.  The event will continue through Advent. A needs list has been placed on the bulletin board at each site with extra copies on the table to take along while shopping.  If anyone would like to donate cash, please make your check out to Community Pregnancy Centers of NW Ohio or St. Isidore Altar-Rosary Society.  Thank you for your continued generosity to this annual event.

Altar Rosary Society Christmas Party follows the meeting Thursday, December 13, at Marysdale at 7 p.m. All ladies of the parish are welcome to attend even if you have not been attending regularly! Join us for some delicious refreshments and fun! Instead of a gift exchange, please bring a gift to donate to the “More than a Manger” project.

Support the Retirement Fund for Religious. Aging religious need your help. Senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests ministered for years for little to no pay. Their sacrifices now leave their religious communities without adequate retirement savings. Your gift to today's second collection for the
Retirement Fund for Religious helps to provide medications, nursing care, and more for tens of thousands of elderly religious. Please be generous.

The 2019 contribution envelopes are available to be picked up.  They will be at The Bend until Saturday, December 1.  Starting Sunday, December 2, they will be available for pick-up at Marysdale.  If you did not receive envelopes and wish to have some, please contact Melissa Moninger at 419-789-3780.
