A Message from Father Jake – I wish everyone a very blessed Christmas! May the special graces of the Christ child come to be with you and your family this blessed and happy season. I especially want to thank everyone at St. Isidore and St. Michael parishes for all the cooperation and good will you have shown me for the past year. It has truly been a joy being able to serve you. I would also like to thank everyone who sent Christmas cards, notes of support, gifts, plates of cookies, and food of all kinds. They are greatly appreciated! Peace & Joy! Fr. Jake
Retreat for Catechists - St. Isidore and St. Michael parishes will be holding a retreat for our catechists (those who teach our youth, work with the youth group and CYO, sacrament prep and adult formation) on January 11 from 10am to 3pm at Marysdale. Luminous Mysteries will be facilitating the retreat, so it will be a great time to renew and reignite yourself for your ministry in the new year. Anyone who has been thinking about becoming involved with youth or adult formation is also invited. Even if you aren’t sure yet, come and take some quality time with God to discern if you are being called. Please let Deacon Scott, Alison Garcia, Ronda Fabiano or Sara Diaw know if you plan to attend by January 5 so we can have a count for food and material.
The youth going to Steubenville are having a raffle until December 22 for a Wendell August Forge miniature pewter, 10-piece Nativity Set, crafted by artist Kyle Gercken and packaged in a signed wooden box. In marriage, communication is more than just talking.
At some point, did you stop sharing about the things that were important to you? Did your spouse?
Improving a marriage takes time and a conscious effort to learn about your spouse. Growing closer in a marriage does not happen automatically. Retrouvaille is a marriage program dedicated to helping couples grow closer and develop a stronger bond. You give your heart and soul to everything you do, between your work and your family. Are you giving your heart and soul to your marriage? Sometimes the distance between a husband and a wife can seem so wide that it cannot be repaired. Retrouvaille is a marriage program designed to bring couples closer together. The next weekend in our area is January 24 – 26, 2020.
