A Family Perspective: Everyone need “A Round Tuit.” The lepers in today’s gospel probably meant to thank Jesus. Excited about being cured, they didn’t get ‘around-to-it.’ We get caught up in our own interests and fail to appreciate what we have or to say what is in our hearts. This week get yourself “A Round Tuit.”
St. Isidore Mass Intentions – Contact Melissa Moninger at 419-789-3780 (call/text). The donation can be given to her directly or put in an envelope with her name on it and placed in the collection basket.

“Around Our Parishes”
This Sunday: Perpetuate the Gift Appeal at all Masses
Saturday: Confirmation Retreat at DB from 10am-3pm; Confessions for Confirmandi begins at 3pm
Next Sunday: World Mission Sunday; Rolls & coffee after 10am Mass at MD, sponsored by the Altar-Rosary Society
Support Our Retired Priests: Please consider a donation to Perpetuate the Gift Appeal being held this weekend. Your gift benefits our retired diocesan priests and your Parish. Once a priest retires he is responsible for his own personal expenses: medical, housing, car, clothing and food. All funds contributed between October 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 help reduce the amount the parish contributes to the fund. There are envelopes in the pews at both sites. A gift of cash or check can be sent to Perpetuate the Gift, PO Box 954, Toledo, OH 43697 or placed in the parish collection. A gift may also be made online at www.toledodiocese.org. If you would like to give a gift of stock or designate a bequest to help our retired priests, please contact Rene Schmidbauer at 419-214-4942 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
World Mission Sunday – Next weekend we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. Each year the entire Church is invited to support the mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Europe and the Americas, where priests, religious and lay leaders serve the world’s most vulnerable communities. Please keep the missions in your prayers, and be generous in next week’s collection for our brothers and sisters in faith throughout the world.
Adorers Needed: Please pray & consider spending an hour with Jesus. Ask your friends and neighbors to consider becoming substitute or regular adorers. We are in need of adorers at various times and especially during the night time hours. Contact Steve Nicely at 419-439-1429 for additional information or to schedule or substitute for an hour of adoration. May God continue to bless our Parish, Chapel, and adorers.
Altar Server Pizza/Bowling Party

The St. Vincent De Paul Society of Defiance County seeks, in the spirit of justice, mercy and charity, to provide assistance to those less fortunate. Volunteers from St Mary’s and St. John’s meet clients once a week to help them avoid eviction from their homes, disconnection of heat, water and electricity, and basic needs of life. Most of us take these basic needs for granted, but they are a constant concern for many people in our county. We also inform them about other agencies in Defiance County that offer classes on finances, culture, mental and spirit benefits so that they can gain stability and make a meaningful difference for themselves and their families. Only thru contributions from individuals and business are we able to continue this ministry to help serve the less fortunate. Your kind and generous giving is vital to our success in helping others in need. If you choose to make a financial donation, you can make a check out payable to: ST VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY and place in the offertory collection any Sunday. Parish personnel will make sure checks are forwarded to St Vincent DePaul office at the St. Mary Parish Center in Defiance.
Thank you to the many parishioners who have donated to SVDP in the past. Currently we have volunteers from St. Mary’s and St. John’s meeting with clients. If you are interested in learning more about this ministry call 419-782-2776

In marriage, communication is more than just talking.
At some point, did you stop sharing about the things that were important to you? Did your spouse?
Improving a marriage takes time and a conscious effort to learn about your spouse. Growing closer in a marriage does not happen automatically. Retrouvaille is a marriage program dedicated to helping couples grow closer and develop a stronger bond. You give your heart and soul to everything you do, between your work and your family. Are you giving your heart and soul to your marriage? Sometimes the distance between a husband and a wife can seem so wide that it cannot be repaired. Retrouvaille is a marriage program designed to bring couples closer together. The next weekend in our area is October 25–27, 2019.
