St. Isidore Altar-Rosary Society’s Mother’s Day to Father’s Day Project – The Community Pregnancy Center has been saving babies in Northwest Ohio for 33 years.  By providing a place to turn for women facing an unplanned pregnancy, CPC gives women the know-ledge, resources, and support necessary for choosing life.  In lieu of the usual distribution and collection of baby bottles, we are asking parishioners who are interested in donating to the Center to write a check to the St. Isidore Altar-Rosary Society and mail it in care of Melissa Moninger to St. Isidore Catholic Parish at 05480 Moser Rd, Defiance, OH  43512.  Donations can also be placed in the collection basket in a clearly marked envelope for Melissa Moninger until July 19.  If you have coins you have been saving, contact Char Shininger to make arrangements to get them to her.

St. Isidore Mass Intentions – Contact Melissa Moninger at 419-789-3780 (call/text).  The donation can be given to her directly or put in an envelope with her name on it and placed in the collection basket.

The Gloria

Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you, we glorify you,

we give you thanks for your great glory.
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,

Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,

You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;

You take away the sins of the word, receive our prayer;

You are seated at the right hand of the Father,

have mercy on us.
For You alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of the Father.  Amen.

The Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (please bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Infanticide Logically Follows Abortion in our Culture of Death

In the February 2012 issue of the Journal of Medical Ethics an article flatly argues in favor of infanticide.

In case you doubt that anyone would openly espouse the killing of babies after birth, let us quote from the article itself. “Merely being human is a reason for not in itself ascribing someone a right to life,” the authors assert. Killing a newborn “should be permissible in all the cases where abortion is, including cases where the newborn is not disabled.”

The authors argue that newborns lack the “level of mental development” necessary to be considered human. In other words, say the authors, what a baby doesn't know — its impending death, in this case — can't hurt it.

A few short years ago no medical journal would have accepted an article purporting to justify infanticide. Now, after human life has been devalued by over 46 years of legalized abortion, such a proposition creates barely a stir. The Catholic Church has been continuously warning us for years about the ramifications of the culture of death.

We must get involved in making a stand for innocent human life, otherwise our culture will only get worse!
