St. Isidore Altar-Rosary Society’s Mother’s Day to Father’s Day Project – As with most events planned during the last few months, this project did not happen.  However, the Community Pregnancy Center is in dire need of funds since its spring fundraising event scheduled for April 21 was also cancelled.  In lieu of distributing and collecting bottles, we are asking parishioners who are interested in donating to the Center to write a check to the St. Isidore Altar-Rosary Society and mail it in care of Melissa Moninger to St. Isidore Catholic Parish at 05480 Moser Rd, Defiance, OH  43512.  Donations can also be placed in the collection basket in a clearly marked envelope for Melissa Moninger until July 19.

Needed at both St. Isidore sites: Volunteers are needed to be greeters and ushers.  Individuals AND families are encouraged to do this along with teenagers who have reliable transportation.  Please consider doing this as a ministry and/or to provide a service to the church. For

more information, please call Deb Kolb at 419-658-2243 or text 419-438-3768.

St. Isidore Mass Intentions – Contact Melissa Moninger at 419-789-3780 (call/text).  The donation can be given to her directly or put in an envelope with her name on it and placed in the collection basket.

The Gloria

Glory to God in the highest,
and peace to His people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King, Almighty God and Father,
we worship You, we give You thanks,
we praise You for Your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world:
have mercy on us;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father:
receive our prayer.
For You alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of the Father.  Amen.

The Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (please bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

A Reflection on Fatherhood from the US Council of Catholic Bishops:  “Fatherhood is first a spiritual reality, because fatherhood has its origins in God who chose to reveal Himself to us as Our Father, sending his only Son for the sake of our salvation. Fathers therefore have a special and unique role ‘in revealing and in reliving on earth the very fatherhood of God’ (FC 25).* Fathers have a vital, unique, and important role to play in the personal and spiritual development of their children, and in reflecting the love of God the Father himself. Fathers are called to show the world the virtues of a tender protector, while living out the virtues of humility and courage.

In all circumstances, but especially in difficult circumstances, a father needs to be encouraged to faithfully accept the role entrusted to him by God and support the mother of his child. Through our prayers and through the intercession of St. Joseph, patron of fathers, may fathers come to know the irreplaceable role they hold in the lives of their children, and the responsibility they share in welcoming God’s gift of new life!”

Happy Father’s Day
